Privacy Policy
Last updated 4 August 2026
Mermlaid does not collect, transmit, or share any data. It makes no network requests of its own. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs.
What stays on your Mac
So the app can pick up where you left off, Mermlaid saves the following to a file in your local Application Support folder:
- the Mermaid source currently in the editor
- the history of diagrams you have rendered
- your settings — theme, export format and scale, background toggle, pane size, line wrapping
This file never leaves your computer. Nobody, including the developer, can read it remotely. Deleting the app removes it, and clearing the history from inside the app deletes those entries immediately.
Diagram content
Diagrams are rendered locally by the bundled Mermaid library. Your diagram text is never uploaded to a server for rendering. Files you export and images you copy go exactly where you tell them to.
Children
Mermlaid collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.
Purchases and distribution
Mermlaid is distributed free through the Mac App Store and GitHub. If you obtain it from the Mac App Store, Apple handles the download and any account information under Apple's privacy policy; the developer receives no personal information from Apple beyond anonymous aggregate statistics.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. The page's history is public in the app's repository, so any change is auditable.
